Policies and Procedures


A Better Way Massage and Acupuncture is committed to providing the best possible care for our patients. Please make yourself familiar with our policies as listed below. Our policies have been designed to ensure that you enjoy a truly wonderful experience with us.


Our clients are asked to arrive 10-15 minutes prior to their appointment to fill out any paperwork needed and so that you may leisurely relax in our reception area.

We understand that things come up that are out of your control. Should you arrive later than your appointment time you may have a shortened service, or you may still receive your full service if time allows, depending on the provider’s schedule.  If you arrive 15 minutes late for your scheduled appointment, your appointment is considered canceled by late/missed appointment/no-show.  A $40 late/missed appointment/no-show fee will be applied to your account.

Communication by phone, email or text, with the office and providers ensure the most efficient use of client and provider’s time and resources.


Scheduling an appointment with A Better Way Massage and Acupuncture can be done by calling us at 360-366-4216, or scheduling on our HIPPA Complaint Online Scheduling website, http://abetterwaymassagellc.fullslate.com .  A contact phone number and email address is required for online scheduling.  Your name and contact information is not shared or sold.  Our online scheduling system will email appointment confirmations as well as email appointment reminders.

We understand that in some cases you may need to cancel your scheduled appointment. Should you need to cancel, we ask for a minimum of 24 hours notice. Clients providing a least 24 hours notice may have appointments cancelled or rescheduled at no charge. Clients providing less than 24 hours notice for a cancellation will be charged a $40 late cancellation. Clients who fail to arrive to a scheduled appointment without providing notice will be charged a $40 no show fee. Should an emergency situation arise, please share that information with us, as each situation will be dealt with on an individual basis.

To ensure availability of your desired appointment time, we suggest you schedule your next visit before leaving.


Our licensed therapists and acupuncturists are trained in procedures to assure you are properly covered during the treatment and your privacy will always be respected. A Better Way Massage and Acupuncture is not responsible for lost or stolen personal items.

Most body treatments are enjoyed without clothing; however, we ask that you disrobe at your level of comfort.  During all treatments, the body is fully draped, except for the area being worked on.

This is your time and you should delight in the experience to the fullest. Whether it’s the room temperature, the amount of massage pressure or the volume of the music, please notify your therapist of any discomfort or preferences. We request that cell phones and pagers be turned off while in the treatment rooms.



Please arrive at your appointment clean.  If you are in need of a shower when you arrive, our office is equipped with shower and towels for your convenience.

If you are sick, please call and reschedule your appointment. Massage is not recommended if you are not well. Please let the therapist know if you have a contagious illness and the session will be rescheduled.



Requests for sexual activity will not be tolerated, will be viewed as solicitation, and reported to the proper authorities under the guidelines of the A Better Way Massage and Acupuncture massage therapy policies and procedures. The client will not be rescheduled if this occurs.  The breast and genital area will not be massaged under any circumstances. A professional distance will be maintained from these areas. Sexual interaction, dating solicitations, inappropriate gift and cards, or discussion of any kind that blurs the boundaries between the client and the massage therapist is NEVER appropriate.



The discussion between the A Better Way Massage and Acupuncture massage therapist and the client is confidential. The client may or may not choose to talk during the treatment.  We are happy to listen to your conversation and share our professional expertise.


We do not offer childcare services.  However children are allowed in the treatment rooms, if they are quiet and respectful of the space.  Please feel free to bring DVD, I-Pads or I-Pods for children entertainment, however volume needs to be low and not disruptive to treatment or other treatments in the next room. Please do not leave children unattended in the reception area.



It is the responsibility of the client to keep the therapist informed of any medical treatment currently being taken, and to provide written permission from the physician, chiropractor, physical therapist, etc., that the treatment may be continued.  The client must also keep the therapist informed of any changes in health conditions.


Acupuncture and Massage therapy can be very beneficial for women during pregnancy. However, be sure to let the therapist know you are pregnant in so they can assure your safety and comfort.


Gratuities are not expected or necessary, but of course they are an excellent way to let the therapist know they’ve done an amazing job. If you do choose to tip however, the average rate is 10-20%, which equals out to about $7-$10.  Tips may be left in the room for the therapist to find on the table or it may be added to your credit card, check payment at the end of the visit.  Please let the therapist know if you are adding to a check or cash payment, otherwise the therapist will add the remainder it to your account balance.


We accept VISA, MasterCard, Discover, AMEX, cash, and personal checks (with appropriate identification.) There is a $75.00 fee for all returned checks.   Financing options are available; please check with a member on our staff for more information. If at any point legal action becomes necessary, all fees, including court, lawyer, and all other cost will be the responsibility of the patient.

Patient who would like to pay their medical bill online, we offer a Patient Portal through Kareo, our medical billing company.  The Patient Portal may be accessed through https://portal.kareo.com.  If you would like to registrar to pay bills online, please contact us and we will send you a HIPPA compliant email invite.

Consider A Better Way Massage and Acupuncture gift certificate or for the perfect gift. You may purchase them at the front reception or by phone with a credit card. Gift Certificates may also be purchased online on our website at http://abetterwaymassagellc.fullslate.com .  Gift Cards can be purchased for a dollar amount, a particular service, or a treatment package. No discounted gift cards can we used on discounted services nor can discounts be combined.


All prices are subject to change, but we will always inform you of any changes when you schedule your appointment.


We do not offer refunds on services rendered. No exceptions.


When you purchase a package of treatments, you will receive a discounted price. The discounted price requires full payment for the series before the first treatment date. We do not offer refunds on packages that have been purchased. Should you choose to cancel after you have begun your treatment series, A Better Way Massage and Acupuncture will honor the outstanding amount in the form of a gift certificate to be given as a gift or saved for future use.  Credit will be given on remaining funds after the full (not discounted) price of the treatment is debited.
