New Research: Massage Therapy for Chronic Neck Pain

man_with_neck_painNew research explores the optimal frequency of massage for people with chronic neck pain. According to the study, neck pain is the eighth leading cause of disability in the United States and it accounts for more than 10 million ambulatory medical care visits per year.

The study concludes that multiple 60-minute massages per week are more effective than fewer or shorter sessions for individuals with chronic neck pain. Clinicians recommending massage should ensure that patients receive the most effective amount of treatment. Read the full story
